Web prices exclude applicable tax
Anthropic’s pricing page says its displayed prices do not include applicable tax. Anthropic says the billing address determines how taxes are calculated on Claude purchases, and for self-serve Pro and Max it normally matches the payment method’s billing address.
Do not apply one VAT percentage to every country or assume the US $20 Pro list price is the final charge in another location. Use the tax and total shown at your own checkout.

Tax or VAT IDs depend on eligibility
Anthropic says an eligible signup may show an optional tax or VAT ID field. Existing customers can update it in Settings → Billing, but changes apply to future billing cycles rather than rewriting past invoices. Whether an ID changes tax treatment depends on the account and jurisdiction.

App Store and Google Play use store billing
Anthropic says iOS and Android subscriptions are paid through Apple and Google respectively, with receipts and payment methods managed in the store account. Local store price displays and tax treatment differ; we do not infer a tax-inclusive total from a public listing alone.
The country pages show original-currency App Store list prices and FX estimates. FX conversion is a research aid, not the card-network rate or a guarantee of the amount charged.
