Claude account banned: official appeal steps

Read the exact account notice first, then use Anthropic’s official appeal or organization review route. A factual outline helps you prepare; it cannot guarantee reinstatement.

Read the exact restriction

“Your account has been disabled” needs context. A restricted personal account, an organization hold and a general sign-in error require different responses. Save the complete notice, account email and time. For an ordinary login error, start with Anthropic’s error troubleshooting.

Its safeguards and appeals article lists repeated Usage Policy violations, account creation from an unsupported location and Terms violations as possible reasons. An outside “risk checker” cannot determine your account’s specific reason.

Use the official appeal route

  1. Sign in to claude.ai with the restricted account and use the appeal form linked from the ban screen. Anthropic says you must be logged in to reach it.
  2. For an organization hold, select “Request a review” on the affected organization.
  3. If you cannot sign in, follow the official support instructions.

Do not share passwords, one-time codes or ID photos with a paid appeal intermediary.

Factual appeal outline

Gather your account email, exact notice, date and time zone, relevant receipt or case number, and a short factual account of what happened:

Account email: [email] · Notice time: [date/time zone] · Exact message: [text] · Relevant facts: [your account] · Order or case ID: [if any]. Please tell me what further information is needed.

No template can guarantee a successful appeal; do not include facts that are not true for your case.

Refund and data options

An account restriction does not automatically trigger a refund. The official refund guide explains separate web, Apple and Google routes, subject to terms and law. Anthropic also says some restricted users can see data export or deletion options after signing in.
